We have been cultivating organic flowers and herbs on our Felslindenhof for many years.
We put our own tailor-made steam distillery into operation in 2014. This enables us to process the freshly harvested plants immediately and thus produce organically certified hydrosols of the highest quality ourselves.
Hydrolates, formerly also known as plant waters, floral waters or aromatic waters, are a valuable by-product of steam distillation. They are created as condensate when the steam cools and are mixed with the water-soluble components of the plant, while the oil contains the fat-soluble, easily volatile ingredients. Since the effect of hydrolates is milder, they can be safely applied directly to the skin.
These waters, so highly valued by our grandparents’ generation, are currently experiencing a true renaissance.

Juniper is an ancient medicinal herb that is valued in many cultures as a powerful cleansing and healing agent. Juniper berries and needles contain essential oils that are known for their antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and circulation-stimulating properties. Juniper hydrolate offers a mild and gentle alternative to essential oil and is widely used in natural cosmetics and general skin care. It is particularly popular for its clarifying and refreshing effect on the skin.
Juniper hydrolate is often used as a tonic to cleanse impure or oily skin, as it refines pores and reduces inflammation. It is ideal as a facial toner or as an ingredient in face and body sprays to refresh and invigorate the skin. The hydrolate can also be used as a compress for muscle tension or in massage oils to promote circulation. In aromatherapy, it is used as a calming and mood-enhancing room spray. Juniper hydrolate is also ideal for cleaning wounds and can help support detoxification and the immune system.

Juniper hydrolate should be used with caution in case of kidney problems and is not recommended during pregnancy.
