Naturally pure essential lemon oil is obtained by cold-pressing the peel. The main ingredient limonene gives the oil an antiseptic and antibacterial effect. It also has an antiviral and mentally calming and mood-enhancing effect. It is therefore very popular in room scenting.
Like all citrus oils, the scent is volatile, which is a disadvantage when using perfume. Lemon oil is often used in aroma cuisine and in the production of lemonade. Due to the cold pressing, lemon oil is basically food grade.
